Terms and Conditions
PAYMENT TERMS
Payment in full is required in order to reserve your space in any
design program, class, workshop or tour. If you are paying your tuition
in monthly payments, the first payment is due in order to register.
Subsequent payments will be withdrawn monthly after your program start
date until your tuition package has been paid in full.
Vanguard School of Interior Design, Inc. accepts Money Orders, Visa,
Master Card, and American Express. We no longer accept business
or personal checks. You may call us at 404-527-6716 and register over
the phone, or fill out and submit your credit card information on the
Registration Form on our Registration page.
You will receive confirmation once your payment has been successfully processed.
Students are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. Payment must be made in order to be considered officially registered.
CANCELLATION POLICY
After your advanced payment is received, you have 72 hours to cancel
for a full refund. If cancellation is attempted after this grace
period, your tuition will be applied as credit towards future classes
at Vanguard School of Interior Design, Inc.. There are no exceptions to
this policy.
Because Vanguard School of Interior Design, Inc. does not refund
tuition, we strongly urge registrants to make certain the programs,
classes, workshops and/or tours they are registering for are what they
want before registering!
ATTENDANCE
Consistent attendance is crucial for full understanding of course
material. In addition, fellow students rely on everyone's presence for
an energetic, fun atmosphere as well as maximum benefit during
discussions, critiques, design brainstorming, etc. Frequent
cancellations and/or tardiness are distracting to everyone and may
result in you being asked to reschedule classes for a time when they
can be a priority and will fit comfortably into your current schedule.
If you are asked to reschedule, you will not receive a refund, but will receive credit towards future classes.
This program is considered ‘Adult Education’. Therefore, each student
is responsible to keep track of his/her own attendance record and
missed class dates.
Students have 2 years from the time they register to complete the program.
Students are welcome to make up classes they have missed within the
two-year period they have to complete the program, but are expected to
keep track of upcoming schedules.
STUDENT DROP-OUTS/TRANSFERRANCE of REGISTRATION
Vanguard
School of Interior Design does not refund tuition under any
circumstance. Only credit for future classes is awarded. However, if a
student decides that he or she does not want to complete the program or
take additional classes, workshops or tours once he or she has started,
a portion of the paid tuition can be transferred to another student who
would like to enter the program during the next session offered. A
transfer fee of $75 will apply, and the in-coming student will pay
his/her tuition in two payments...one portion to the out-going student
and a portion to Vanguard School of Interior Design, Inc. (to be broken
down in the following manner):
Time after program start
Within 1st month – 75% of paid tuition (to be paid to out-going
student) 25% of paid tuition plus any remaining balance (to be paid to
Vanguard School of Interior Design, Inc.)
Between 1st and 2nd month – 50% of paid tuition (to be paid to
out-going student) 50% of paid tuition plus any remaining balance (to
be paid to Vanguard School of Interior Design, Inc.)
Between 2nd and 3rd month – 25% of paid tuition (to be paid to
out-going student) 75% of paid tuition plus any remaining balance (to
be paid to Vanguard School of Interior Design, Inc.)
After 3rd month... Transferring registration to another student will not be possible.
Students who are dropping out of the program must find a student to
transfer their registration to. Vanguard School of Interior Design,
Inc. can assist with this effort, but is not responsible for and is not
obligated to find a match for the out-going student.
As a courtesy, we offer the ability for students to transfer their
registration to another student as a way for students to recoup some of
their tuition costs if they choose to drop out of the program after
they have registered. Transferring registration is completely the
responsibility of the out-going student, and the arrangement is up to
him/her to make it happen. It is in no way guaranteed by Vanguard
School of Interior Design, Inc.
HOMEWORK/PROJECTS
Students are responsible for completing all project work for each class
prior to the completion of each course. Any exceptions must be
prearranged with the course instructor.
LATE POLICY
Frequent tardiness is disruptive to the entire class. Please try to
arrive a few minutes early to get settled at your desk and prepare for
the start of class.
CELL PHONE POLICY
No cell phones are allowed in class during
class time. If you need to keep your phone with you and in the “On”
position for emergency purposes (sick child, etc.), please keep the
phone turned to “Silent Mode”. (“Vibrate Mode” still makes a sound and
is as disruptive to the class as a ring tone). Please be courteous to
your fellow students and your instructors.
CERTIFICATES OF COMPLETION (Residential Interior Certificate Program and My-Pace Certificate Program)
This program is an intensive course of study intended for those who
would like to pursue residential interior decorating and design as a
part-time or full-time career. The curriculum has been developed by
Vanguard School of Interior Design, Inc. instructors who have among
them over 50 years combined experience as professional interior
designers, architects, and industry experts. All instructors have
significant teaching and lecturing experience as instructors of
residential design at area colleges.
It is important to note that to practice residential decorating or to
start your own business within the design industry a degree is not
required.
The design classes offered at Vanguard School of Interior Design, Inc.
do not apply or transfer to college or university degree Interior
Design curriculums. Neither the Residential Interiors Certificate of
Completion nor the My-Pace Certificate of Completion is equivalent to a
degreed Interior Design program, nor does it entitle you to "Georgia
State Registered Interior Designer" status. Be sure to talk to a
Vanguard School of Interior Design, Inc. Advisor if you have any
questions regarding degreed programs, non-degreed programs and the
career path you would like to take in the residential interiors
industry.
The design classes that are offered at Vanguard School of Interior
Design, Inc. are broken into Beginner and Advanced levels. Beginner
classes must be completed with a satisfactory weighted grade of A, B or
C before proceeding to Advanced level classes.
Students have a total of two years to complete the entire certificate
program (both Residential Interiors Certificate and the My-Pace
Certificate) from the date they start the program.
Payment of tuition does NOT guarantee receipt of a Certificate.
Students will receive a Certificate of Completion only after they have
successfully completed all Beginner and Advanced design classes, as
determined by the President and the instructors at Vanguard School of
Interior Design, Inc. during a final review of all project work. No
exceptions.
WORKSHOPS & TOURS
Workshops are non-credit, project oriented classes that usually consist
of one full-day session. They do not apply to the Residential Interiors
or the My-Pace Certificate programs (unless otherwise specified), but
are fun, informative and are meant to enhance the certificate design
classes.
Tours and field-visits are also non-credit (unless otherwise specified) and are held at specified off-site locations.
Students who are enrolled as Certificate program students are entitled
to 50% off the price of each workshop and tour they sign up for.
Workshops and Tours are open to anyone who would like to participate, not just certificate students.
COURSE, SCHEDULE and PRICING CHANGES
Dates, Times and Content for all classes, workshops and tours are
subject to change by Instructors. Should schedule changes be required,
and you cannot attend the rescheduled date, your payment will be
credited to another course and time of your choosing.
Should an instructor need to cancel class due to illness or emergency,
a qualified substitute will conduct the class, or it will be
rescheduled.
Vanguard School of Interior Design, Inc. reserves the right to change pricing structure of classes and courses at any time.
